The Profiles & Algorithm section in Together allows admins to configure and manage participant data for their programs.

Whether importing organizational data or collecting participant responses, this section ensures structured, consistent, and reusable user data across multiple programs.

Accessing Profiles & Algorithm

To manage participant data, navigate to: 📍 Program Settings > Profiles & Algorithm

Admins can manage user data in two key ways:

  • Admin-Imported Fields – Fields added by admins via CSV uploads or HRIS sync. These fields remain consistent across all programs, ensuring users do not need to enter them repeatedly.
    • Note: End-user visibility of Admin-imported fields is configured under Settings > Integrations > HRIS Integrations > Select Custom Fields, instead of in the questionnaire as this applies to all programs.
  • Participant-Populated Fields – Fields that users fill out when they register for a program. Responses are specific to each program, allowing flexibility based on program needs.

At the top of the Profiles & Algorithm page, you’ll find + Add Question, Preview Registration, and All Filters.

Question Templates:

This tab allows admins to browse the Question Template library, view templates and add them to the current program.

Screenshot 2025-11-26 at 12.56.19 PM.png

Browse our question templates by filtering or searching for what you need. Instead of creating fields manually, admins can select from templates such as: Department, Seniority Level, Language, Gender, Location and more. Admins can use the templates as is with default settings or as a starting point to further edit or configure as needed.

To add a Question Template:

  1. Navigate to Profiles & Algorithm and click Add Question > Templates tab
  2. Search for the template of interest or browse the library.
  3. Select View Template.
  4. Add Template to add it to your program.

Reused Questions:

This tab allows admins to reuse existing fields from other programs instead of creating duplicates. If participants have already answered this question in another program, they won’t have to answer them again.

Screenshot 2025-11-26 at 1.33.36 PM.png

To Reuse a Question from another program:

  1. Navigate to Profiles & Algorithm and click Add Question > Reused Questions.
  2. Find the field you want to reuse and apply to the current program.
  • Option 1: click Add to This Program to reuse the question, keep it linked between programs, and share field data. However, Matching Logic, Matching Preferences, and Match Strength remain program-specific.
  • Option 2: Click the Screenshot 2025-11-26 at 1.58.10 PM.png button and then Screenshot 2025-11-26 at 1.58.42 PM.png to Copy this question.

📌  Note: Copying a question creates a separate version, meaning any changes made to the field in one program will not affect the same field in another program.

Editing Question Fields

To edit a question field in a program:

  1. Navigate to Profiles & Algorithm.
  2. Click on the Screenshot 2025-11-26 at 1.58.10 PM.png button on field you want to modify.
  3. Update the question type, question text, response format, and response options.
  4. Preview the question for visibility as needed.
  5. Click Save to apply the changes.
Screenshot 2025-11-26 at 2.22.08 PM.png

📌  Note: If a field is copied, changes made to it in one program will not impact the same field in another program. However, if a field is reused, edits to the field will apply across all programs where it is used, except for Matching Logic, Matching Preferences, and Match Strength, which remain program-specific.

Additional Question Field options:

  1. Response required vs. optional:
    • Required: users must choose a response option.
    • Optional: users can choose to skip this question and provide a response option.
  2. Response visibility – Determine if response data is visible to everyone, mentors and admins only or admins only.
  3. Number of responses – Determine whether or not to limit the number of choices a user can choose. The default is Unlimited responses.
  4. Custom responses – Determine whether a user can add their own response options. If custom responses are turned on, this question is not optimal to use as a matching field as other users cannot see custom responses provided.

Configuring Matching Logic

To configure matching logic for a field:

  1. Navigate to the field in Profiles & Algorithm.
  2. Click on the Screenshot 2025-11-26 at 1.58.10 PM.png button on field you want to modify.
  3. Click on the Matching Logic tab.
  4. If the Question type is Identity Information, the Matching Logic options are:
    • No Question Logic – Responses will not be used in matching.
    • Matches – Looks for overlap in responses between users.
    • Does Not Match – Avoids matching users with similar responses.
    • Matches in certain cases – Looks for overlap in certain combinations of responses.
    • Let users indicate their preference in match – Allows users to indicate their preference.
  5. If the Question type is Personal Development Information, the Matching Logic options are:
    • No Question Logic – Responses will not be used in matching.
    • Let users indicate their preference in match – Allows users to indicate their preference.
    • Set the Matching Strength (e.g., Moderately Important, Highly Important).
  6. Click Save to apply the changes.

📌  Note: when configuring an Identity Information question and allowing users to indicate their preference in a match, there will be additional questions on the Matching Logic page.
